Titan was founded in 1990 as a manufacturer’s representative and distribution company serving the metal finishing industry. In its earliest years, the company focused on supplying high-purity anodes and specialty materials to customers with demanding quality requirements. From the beginning, Titan’s approach was straightforward: understand the customer’s process, provide dependable material, and deliver the level of service necessary to build long-term relationships.
That commitment to customers ultimately shaped the company Titan would become.
As Titan grew, so did the complexity of its customers’ requirements. Supplying material was no longer enough. Customers increasingly needed greater control over quality, consistency, availability, and processing.
To better meet those requirements, Titan took an important step forward by developing its first satellite manufacturing operation. Bringing manufacturing capabilities in-house allowed the company to more closely control product quality, respond to specialized requirements, and provide customers with solutions that traditional distribution alone could not offer.
That first manufacturing investment marked a turning point for Titan.
Over time, additional satellite facilities were developed and commissioned as the company expanded into new materials, processes, and markets. Each investment was driven by a similar philosophy: when customers needed a capability that did not exist, Titan looked for a way to build it.
What began as a specialty metals distribution business steadily evolved into a manufacturing and material-processing organization.
As Titan’s operations continued to expand, the company reached another major milestone with the acquisition of a 200,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, located across from the historic Hill School.
The facility provided Titan with the space and infrastructure needed to consolidate its various operations under one roof while creating room for continued expansion.
Bringing these capabilities together changed what Titan could offer its customers. Manufacturing, material recovery, refining, powder processing, thermal processing, analytical capabilities, and research and development could increasingly operate as parts of an integrated system rather than as independent operations.
The Pottstown facility became more than Titan’s headquarters. It became the foundation for the next stage of the company’s growth.
Titan’s growth has never been driven simply by adding equipment or increasing floor space. It has been driven by the changing needs of its customers.
As material supply chains became more complex and customer requirements became more demanding, Titan expanded its ability to work with materials throughout their lifecycle.

And it means building the technical and manufacturing infrastructure needed to support industries that depend on critical and advanced materials.
